Three collections from Luxury watchmaker Patek Philippe expand designs for women.
The Collections
Launched in 1993, the Gondolo Collection took inspiration from the streamlined, moderne aesthetic of the Art Deco era and created a 20th century interpretation. The latest and most striking addition to the women's collection is Ref. 4949. Featuring a champagne-hued dial etched with a radiating sunburst pattern, a braid that is embossed into the flanks and flawless diamonds within the crystal that trace the sides of the sensuous shape, this watch is the embodiment of restrained beauty. Further enhancing the richness is the chocolate-colored satin strap and the tonneau-shape case.
The Twenty~4 Collection was launched in 1999 as an updated reflection of the Gondolo silhouette. Focusing on the linear aspect of the inspiring design, these watches were created for the active women with refined taste. While appropriate for all occasions, there are varying degrees of ornamentation appealing to each woman's preference: Ref. 4908 reflect the more understated aesthic, with diamonds appearing on the case and bezel only, while others offer a higher level of adornment. Each model, available in stainless steel, white gold or rose gold, reflects perfection in craftsmanship while the curved, wrist-following case is inherently, yet subtly, feminine.
The classic, round-faced watches in the Calatrava Collection have been a favorite since its debut in 1932. In 2007, Patek Philippe unveiled a new version of the Travel Time in response to the changing needs of the modern woman. The Ref. 4934 marks time in two zones by hour hands that sweep synchronously over the dial. Flawless diamonds and the mercurial luster of the mother-of-pearl dial ensure the elegance of this watch, while legibility is created with crisp railway-track scales, large Roman numerals and small arabic numbers in the sub-dials. The matte alligator strap balances the texture and matches the case: dark brown for the rose-gold and white for the white-gold model.
