Beautiful Skyline...
NYC`s skyline is recognizable around the world. The Statue of Liberty has stood tall and proud for decades, at first welcoming immigrants to their new homeland but now as an important symbol to the people of New York. Enjoy the ferry ride to Liberty Island, which can also travel to Ellis Island, and get an up close view of Lady Liberty. The Empire State Building is a great example of New York`s well-known architecture. As one of New York`s tallest buildings, you get a fantastic city view from the 86th floor. It`s nice to know there`s an elevator that takes you to the observation deck. Grand Central Station is a fascinating maze of railway tracks, boutiques and places to grab a snack. Even if you`re not arriving or departing from it, it is well worth the time to explore the terminal and be a part of the action. Rockefeller Center is a collection of fantastic buildings and well-known businesses, including the impressive GE Building and the famous Radio City Music Hall. The Lower Plaza of Rockefeller Center gets filled with New Yorkers wrapped in scarves and mittens during the winter months when it gets transformed into a huge ice skating rink. You should also try getting seats to Conan O`Brien or Saturday Night Live. Although it might be difficult, it`s worth the effort if you get in.

Although the locals will never get bored, it can seem a tad overwhelming for the guests of NYC. The Metropolitan Museum of Art has everything from an impressive Egyptian Art collection to Modern Art. It would be a wise idea to do some research before you come. With over two million pieces of art on display, you`ll want to narrow down your options. The Museum of Modern Art has an astounding collection of, well, Modern Art. Its drawings, sculptures and paintings showcase talents of world-famous artists as well as the up and coming names of today. The American Museum of Natural History is a great place to learn about life. You can walk through the various presentations or get right in the action with the hands-on displays. Whether you`re interested in the water, land or even outer space, you`ll be able to explore exhibits on it all.

In a city filled with skyscrapers and streets NYC also has its fair share of green space. Battery Park, located on the southern part of Manhattan, has a wonderful tribute to AIDS victims in Hope Garden and on the other end a harbor where the ferries take you to Ellis Island or Liberty Island. Central Park stretches over 800 acres, providing New Yorkers and guests alike with ample space to run, bike or simply enjoy the great outdoors. Keep your eyes and ears open for the many free concerts and events that take stage, especially during the summer months. Although it`s not an actual garden, Madison Square Garden is the place for great concerts and amazing boxing matches. It`s also home for the NY Knicks and NY Rangers.

From high-end fashion to vintage t-shirts, NYC literally has you covered. Whether you spend all day in Macy`s or stroll through SoHo`s many unique boutiques, you`ll find the best outfits to suit any occasion. To have a true NYC shopping experience though you`ll need to head over to 5th or 7th avenue. Both offer you a wealth of choices. The storefronts could almost be considered pieces of art themselves. Even if you can`t afford the items inside, make the trip to stroll the streets and soak in the culture.

It may seem hard to believe, but New York City has over 18,000 restaurants, which means you have a lot of variety. In the mood for Dim Sum or Italian? How about formal or take out? Whatever you`re craving, NYC has got what you need. If you`re in a rush or want to enjoy a meal outside, it`s a real treat to go to a local pizzeria and get an amazing pie or grab some treats at the many vendors located throughout the streets. Times Square has an amazing selection of restaurants so if you`re not sure where to go, head over to the square and take your pick.
