ULTIMATE B-BOY CHAMPIONSHIP
UBC INTERNATIONAL and MGM Grand will host the inaugural Ultimate B-boy Championship Friday, Aug. 6 and Saturday, Aug. 7. This landmark hip-hop and break-dance event will showcase the best B-boy (break dancing) crews and individuals in the world as they move from the underground community into the mainstream. The event is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. each night.

The Ultimate B-boy Championship will be hosted by the world-famous Wayne Brady with color commentary by Mr. Freeze, an original pioneer of break dancing. RUSH

Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band will take over the MGM Grand Garden Arena Saturday, Oct. 23 as part of the Under the Big Top Tour 2010. Parrotheads won’t want to miss their chance to soak in the full Margaritaville experience. Buffett’s newest release, Encores, is his newest live acoustic double CD. This unique collection, recorded in different cities in the U.S. as well as Paris during the 2008/2009 tour, is comprised of the intimate final encore songs at the end of each concert. ROGER WATERS
Roger Waters, co-founder and principal songwriter of the progressive rock band Pink Floyd, will commemorate the 30th anniversary of the original release of The Wall with a monumental tour including a stop at the MGM Grand Garden Arena Friday, Nov. 26. The Thanksgiving weekend show will feature a full band and a newly mounted state-of-the-art production of his ‘masterpiece of alienation and transformation.’ The Wall previously has been performed live in its entirety by Waters only 31 times including Pink Floyd’s 1980-81 tour in support of the album. One of the most profoundly influential albums in the history of recorded music, The Wall continues to affect pop culture while resonating with generations of music fans worldwide.

JABBAWOCKEEZ
A dance troupe that won the dance reality series “Randy Jackson Presents America’s Best Dance Crew,” the Jabbawockeez’ influence has spanned the globe inspiring minds through music and dance. Dressing in expressionless white masks and white gloves, the crew guides the audience’s attention away from individual identities and toward a unified and synchronized group. Fireworks will come at the end of July this year when boxing superstars Juan Manuel "Dinamita" Marquez and Juan “Baby Bull” Diaz meet in a rematch Saturday, July 31 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center. 2010 MISS UNIVERSE PAGEANT
NBC Universal and Donald J. Trump bring the 49th annual Miss Universe pageant to the Mandalay Bay Events Center Monday, Aug. 23. Each contestant, representing more than 80 countries around the world, will compete in three categories: swimsuit, evening gown and interview. Miss Universe 2009, Stefania Fernandez, will crown her successor at the conclusion of the two-hour event. Fernandez has spent her reign traveling the world as an advocate for HIV/AIDS education, research and legislation. The woman crowned Miss Universe 2010 will continue to do the same.

BACKSTREET BOYS

GIPSY KINGS
The Gipsy Kings will bring its flamenco-style music to the Mandalay Bay Beach for a Friday, July 16 performance. Hailing from France, Gipsy Kings are best-known for bringing Rumba Catalana, a pop-oriented version of traditional flamenco music, to audiences worldwide. In 1989, the band released its self-titled first album, Gipsy Kings, in the United States where it spent 40 weeks on the charts. ZIGGY MARLEY
Popular reggae musician Ziggy Marley will perform at the Mandalay Bay Beach Saturday, July 17. Marley, the oldest son of music legend Bob Marley, made his recording debut in 1979 with a group comprised of his father and three siblings. The group came to be known as The Melody Makers and in three decades released 14 albums. Ziggy Marley began his solo career in 2003 when he released Dragonfly (Ghetto Youths Crew), a record label he created while working with the United Nations. In 2006, he released his second solo album, Love Is My Religion, which won a GRAMMY® Award for “Best Reggae Album.” His third solo album, Family Time, was released in 2009 and dedicated to all of the children in the world. It featured his mother, Rita Marley, as well as musicians including Paul Simon, Willie Nelson and Jack Johnson, among others. Marley later earned another GRAMMY® for “Best Musical Album for Children.”

JIMMY CLIFF
Jamaican ska and reggae singer/musician Jimmy Cliff will make his Mandalay Bay Beach debut Saturday, July 24. Cliff began writing songs at a young age while listening to a neighbor’s sound system. The Jamaican native made his break into the music industry at the age of 14 when his single “Hurricane Hattie” became a hit. He released his first album, Hard Road to Travel, in 1968 and has released 26 other albums in nearly four decades. Cliff helped popularize reggae across the world with hits like “I Can See Clearly Now” which appeared on the “Cool Runnings” soundtrack and “You Can Get It If You Really Want” in the film “The Harder They Come.” In March 2010, Cliff was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and is currently the only living musician to hold the Order of Merit, the highest honor granted by the Jamaican government for achievement in the Arts and Sciences.

SUBLIME WITH ROME
Sublime with Rome recently announced the first leg of its 2010 summer tour which will include a performance at the Mandalay Bay Beach Friday, July 30. The concert will feature special guest Matisyahu and The Dirty Heads. One of the most notable and successful ska-punk bands of all time, Sublime has sold more than 17 million albums worldwide with the group’s music remaining in constant radio rotation across the country. The group’s multi-platinum landmark debut album 40oz. to Freedom, the second album Robbin’ the Hood and the multi-platinum self-titled album (a virtual greatest hits set in itself) are all widely regarded as music collection staples.

The original members, Bud Gaugh and Eric Wilson, recently reformed with new front-man Rome, a 21-year-old Northern California native. A handful of jam sessions in 2009 led to an impromptu show in Nevada and the trio later was a surprise special guest at the infamous KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas show before officially declaring themselves as Sublime with Rome.

ADAM LAMBERT with ORIANTHI
Adam Lambert caught the nation’s attention when he competed as a contestant on Season 8 of the hit show American Idol. Although the flamboyant performer finished second, he found much immediate success in the pop music world after releasing his debut solo album For Your Entertainment. His single “Whataya Want from Me” reached the Top 10 on the Billboard 100 and continues to play on radio stations worldwide. Lambert recently returned to American Idol as a guest mentor—a first for a past contestant. He is currently traveling the country with Australian singer-songwriter Orianthi on a 40-city tour.

BLONDIE AND THE B-52S
Blondie and the B-52s will bring their party atmosphere to the Mandalay Bay Beach for a Saturday, Aug. 7 performance. Founded by singer Deborah Harry and guitarist Chris Stein, Blondie was a pioneer in the early new wave and punk rock scenes of the mid-70s. They are known for hits singles including “Call Me” and “One Way or Another.” Blondie was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006 and plans to release their new album, Panic of Girls in June 2010.

After 25 years and more than 20 million albums into its career, the B-52s remain among the most beloved rock stars in history. Timeless gems such as their very first single “Rock Lobster,” “Private Idaho” and “Love Shack” will have the Beach audience dancing the night away.

LOST 80S LIVE
The unique Lost 80s Live summer tour featuring Animotion, When in Rome, The Motels, A Flock of Seagulls, Dramarama, Gene Loves Jezebel and Real Life arrives at the Mandalay Bay Beach for a Saturday, Aug. 14 performance. DAVID ALAN GRIER
The multi-talented actor, singer and comedian David Alan Grier will take the stage at Mandalay Bay performing his hilarious routine for one-night only Friday, July 2. Grier, known for his work on the stage and screen, will perform at 9 p.m. The classically trained Grier received an MFA from the Yale School of Drama and began his career on Broadway in the role of Jackie Robinson in “The First,” where he earned a Tony nomination for Best Featured Actor in a Musical. Grier’s television work includes the Emmy winning show “In Living Color,” as well as “DAG” and “Life with Bonnie.” He also was a fan favorite on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars.”  Grier recently returned to his theatrical roots starring opposite James Spader and Kerry Washington in David Mamet’s acclaimed play “RACE.”
